Mash It Up!

Today is National Sugar Cookie Day! Use this as an excuse to make some yummy cookies. Nothing is better than a chewy sugar cookie with a giant glass of milk under the summer sunshine!

Do you have a favorite sugar cookie recipe? I have a lot of different ones for different moods(crunchy, chewy, etc), but for a quick fix, I love Pillsbury slice and bake cookies. My next sugar cookie I am going to make are these adorable Watermelon Cookies!

Yesterday my grandma came down to visit me and my new apartment! We had a fun sleep over—went out to eat, ate popcorn and ice cream, watched Full House Season 1, and just had a blast! I never thought the day would come when I would host her instead of the opposite! It’s so fun! Anyway, we went to the Ground Round to eat. Do you have those in your area? It’s like your typical Applebee’s or Chili’s—a really laid back dining experience, but awesome food! Their menu ranges from yummy apps like chicken quesadillas and spinach and artichoke dip. They have lots of Tex Mex food(triple fajitas, chimichangas, etc), specialty salads, great pasta dishes (shrimp scampi, spicy chicken pizza, etc), seafood, steaks, ribs, chicken dishes, soups, specialty sandwiches, and of course awesome dessert choices—so if you happen to pass one by ever, be sure to stop! Of course I had to try their signature BBQ flavored chicken with a load of steamed veggies!

It was super good—really flavorful and moist and the perfect portion to keep me full!

Now onto the mash up I mentioned. Is anyone else a complete addict to mashed potatoes? I really don’t like homemade(crazy!), but give me some instant potatoes and I could down a whole bowl—by itself! Although I do like a puddle of gravy on the top if it’s available! KFC’s are hard to beat—well that was until I happened upon this gem that is now my #1 choice for mashed potatoes. For $0.76 a pouch(which makes a giant bowl), it is really a price and taste that can’t be beat as far as I am concerned.

Betty Crocker's Pouch Potatoes made my meal a complete (and delicious) deal! They come in Roasted Garlic(which is what I got), Creamy Butter, Homestyle Reds, Loaded Mash and Cheddar & Sour Cream. Add 2 cups of hot water to a bowl, add the mix, and pop em’ in the microwave for about 2 minutes and that’s all! I swear, Betty C and I could make a mad team!

Check the stats! They’re not half bad!

And like I said, I will definitely top my taters with gravy if it’s possible. Thanks to my mom for recommending this, I will never go back to powdered gravy mix again—Heinz Classic Chicken jarred gravy all the way!

I saw Mr.Potato eyeing up this free-wheeling gravy, and needless to say they hooked up and made quite a pair—in my mouth!
