Waking Up in Chicago

Another thing I’ve observed about road trips—they definitely make you tired. Thursday night, I slept like a rock…but in this hotel, can you blame me?

I think the Congress Plaza Hotel was the perfect pick for a hotel. I am in love with all the old-fashioned architecture inside and out.

What better way to start the day then with some breakfast…cooked for you?

Friday Re-cap

The Gazebo Restaurant is located right in the hotel and opens at 6:30 a.m.—perfect.

Loved this—usually I am not a fan of breakfast’s in restaurants because they can be drowned in grease, but this passed my test!

And then we were off for the day..with the necessary morning beverages of course!

Eating a meal in Chicago is literally impossible—there is so many options to choose from it’s insane! We finally chose E-leaven cafe and bakery. It ended up being a good choice. A lot of food for a good price..and all of their food looked picture perfect!

I got the veggie omelet and seasonal fruit.

The Hershey’s Store…yum!

We also stumbled upon the infamous Sprinkles Cupcakes—unfortunately the line was out the door!

We walked, shopped, and walked some more, about 5 miles total, then we were looking for somewhere to eat before heading to the HLS cocktail party. We’ve heard of the Tavern on Rush before, so we needed to try em out. Besides being SO loud in there (I guess that’s the city for ya), I really enjoyed the pork chops with granny smith compote..and check out this baked potato..this size of my head, literally! I could only eat half =( p.s. They  have really delish bread baskets—for free!

I swear..all this walking works up a serious appetite monster in me!

And then it was off to the much anticipated Healthy Living Summit Cocktail Party at the Laselle Power Co venue. It was sponsored by Open Sky, and they really know how to throw a good party!

Glad you had a great time! I'm sad we didn't get a chance to catch up. My flight back from Phoenix ended up getting in a lot later than I expected. Looks like you had a fabulous weekend though and hit up some great spots.

My favorite dress- I have a few....but I really am in love with the second dress I wore during my wedding day. It has a low back- simple elegance!
